Rooster was created for Four Seasons Brewing Company to use on a label for their red ale. When I lived in Connecticut, I bought a rooster from the county fair and named him Herald. He lived with nineteen ladies and I loved hearing him each morning. They truly are wonderful alarm clocks and certainly have personalities. My son's great-grandmother loved roosters and had a collection of them! I think of Granny and Herald when I see or hear a rooster and it always makes me smile. Here's my take on this colorful bird I painted with deep red watercolor, pen, ink, and oil pastel for accents.
